Sneki Podi Idli Recipe

Ingredients

  • Mini Idlis or Regular Idlis – 15 to 20 (cut into small pieces if regular) 
  • Sneki Masala Idli Podi (Gunpowder) – 3 tbsp 
  • Ghee or Sesame Oil – 2 tbsp 
  • Curry Leaves – a few 
  • Mustard Seeds – ½ tsp 
  • Dry Red Chili – 1 (optional)
  • Salt – as needed (optional)
  • Instructions:

  • Heat ghee or sesame oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter
  • Add curry leaves and dry red chili (if using) and sauté for a few seconds
  • Toss in the idlis and sauté gently for 2 minutes
  • Add Sneki Masala Sambar Powder, tamarind water, and mashed dal.
  • Sprinkle the idli podi over the idlis and mix well to coat evenly. Adjust salt if necessary 
  • Serve hot with coconut chutney or enjoy as is.
